Hot Apple Pie in a Goblet

3 large golden delicious apples peeled, cored, seeded and chopped into small pieces

1/4 cup water

1/2 tsp cinnamon

Shortbread cookies, crumbled into crumbs (I have used chocolate chip too)

Ice cream of your liking

Chopped nuts, mini chocolate chips, coconut flakes are all optional toppings.

 

In a medium sauce pan, combine the apples, sugar, water, and cinnamon. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Cook covered, stirring occasionally for 15 minutes. Remove the cover and cook for an additional five more minutes until the apples are soft and the liquid is evaporated.

 

Place some cookie crumbs in the bottom of four goblets or wine glasses. Place some apples on top of ice cream. You can now tap off your goblet with toppings of your choice.

 

Apples can be made ahead and placed in the fridge and reheated before serving.

 

This is a great dessert For a buffet. guests can make their own apple pie and a goblet.
